She represented the Polish Community from 1991-1992.

She was crowned at the 1991 Festival Polonaise in Grant Park. “I’m trying to establish an acting career in Los Angeles and Chicago this summer. I’ve had bit parts and extra work in eight movies in Chicago and I’ve been in three commercials. Recently I finished working ten days on “Prelude to a Kiss” as a wedding guest.

She’s “100 percent Polish”, Chicago-born, single, 21, lives on the Northwest side. Graduated with honors from St. Ignatius Prep, where she was a senior-of-the-year and on the speech team. “I attended Loyola U. a couple of years and became ill. I was forced to take time off last fall. At Loyola I studied philosophy and communications and took acting on the side.”

HER FAMILY:

Dad Marian was leader of the rural youth movement in Poland while in college there. He was not in favor with the Communist regime. He became a journalist here, is now retired. Mom Genowefa is a specialist for Williams Electronics. Barbara’s twin sister Ursula is “looking for a career in the medical field.” Barbara’s brother Adam is an attorney here and assistant to Edward Moskal, Polish National Alliance president.
