Kiddieland: The End of the Ride.

From Monday, August 3, 2009 to Saturday, October 23,
2010, I was able to photograph the events that occurred
during the closing of the Kiddieland Amusement Park in
Melrose Park, Illinois.
All throughout this time
I was able to attend and photograph the final ride day,
the auction, the removal of the rides and the demolition
of the property. This led to the follow up and
redevelopment of the space to accomodate a new Costco
Warehouse.
Please take a moment to look and see
what happened to this great entertainment venue and how
it was turned into a Big Box Warehouse Club.
Having gone to Kiddieland many times as a kid, I felt
compelled to do what I could to help preserve the memory
of this place for future generations. It truly is a shame that this
property could not continue on and be utilized as an
entertainment venue. It was really sad to see the
demolition of this great Amusement Park...
